AFSCME

November 18, 2011

Following up on the resounding victory in Ohio, AFSCME has launched a TV, radio and newspaper ad campaign throughout New York State to remind elected officials, and the public at large, that our members serve communities across the state every day, even under life-threatening conditions.
They do their jobs day-in and day-out with courage and commitment, and they deserve support.

In New York, our members rose to the challenge when Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee arrived on our shores. Our members helped prepare for the storm, made sure residents were safe and provided emergency support. Afterwards, it was up to our brothers and sisters to clean up downed trees, clear roads and help families who lost their possessions and even their homes.
To recognize their hard work and to remind the public that our members are there when it matters most, AFSCME New York launched this campaign.
You may have seen the ads already on your favorite cable news station, heard them on the radio or seen them in your local newspaper.
Several CSEA members are featured and identified in this video.  You may also have heard the audio version on news-radio stations such as 1010 WINS.
