CONTRACT UPDATE
May 27, 2008

At 9am this morning, CSEA Unit 9200 President Jack McPhillips was informed that Anthony Zumbolo, the mediator from PERB, (Public Employees Relations Board) will not have a settlement recommendation to issue to CSEA as promised for today (May 27, 2008). The County negotiator, Mike Wittenberg, refuses to meet with the mediator until tomorrow afternoon, and therefore the mediator cannot write a settlement recommendation to distribute to CSEA and Westchester County.

This, of course, is very upsetting to the CSEA officers, as we are trying desperately to resolve our contract dispute with a fair and equitable agreement, but we are getting little if no cooperation from Westchester County.
The stance of the Unit 9200 Negotiation Team has not changed since our April 10, 2008 second meeting/productive discussion with the PERB Mediator.

At this point in time the CSEA Unit 9200 Negotiation Team is again waiting for the County to respond, again, in our effort to obtain a contract settlement for our 4,000 hard working CSEA members that make Westchester County government a success every day.
We hope to meet very soon with a report from the mediator, and as always, we will keep you informed of every step of this process and thank you for your continued support and input when needed.
