Are One rally in White Plains, NY.

version of the LoHud story above (the link above will expire)
This rally was one of over 1,000 such rallies on April 4, 2011 in the
United States.
Many, many concerned middle class
workers participated, both union and non union members.
There were
over 500 participants at the White Plains, NY rally.
CSEA Unit 9200 2nd VP, Junio Alvarado,
was misidentified in the story as Julio Alvarado (it was very
loud and animated at the rally!)
The rally was sponsored by CWA 1103
(the workers in Verizon and other industries)
and CSEA was one of the
many unions participating.
CSEA
Region 3 President Billy Riccaldo and CSEA
Local 860 (Westchester Local) President John Staino
were 2 of the
speakers at the podium platform last night. (last image below)
Many CWA members, who
wear red on Thursdays
for solidarity, are evident in the image files.
Many allied union members, such as
firefighters, teachers, clerical, professional and technical trade,
laboratory, road maintenance, blue and green collar workers,
electricians, painters, school district workers,
plumbers, librarians,
auditors, clerks, buyers, and paralegals, among many other professions,
were in attendance together with their family members and
children.
Non union friends and concerned citizens and taxpayers were also in
attendance.
The event was loud and energetic but totally peaceful.
