Lunch Hour Labor / Meet the People Walk
in
White Plains
The walk had participation
by municipal employee union and
non-union workers and supporters in ALL cities and
municipalities.
Organized by CSEA Unit 9200 Employees of
Westchester County.
Hundreds of municipal employees in Westchester - members of
CSEA, SOA, AFL-CIO, and others - and municipal employees not
in a union -participated in this important event. Municipal
workers from Westchester County, Westchester Medical Center,
White Plains City, White Plains Library, White Plains Schools,
Greenburgh, Harrison,
and supporters participated.
We used our lunch hour to show our presence in White Plains
and to support labor in Westchester County.
Municipal workers are the backbone and the lifeblood of
Westchester county, city, and town governments.
Municipal workers provide the services that are taken for
granted every day and that are extremely important to all
residents.
Municipal workers pay the same taxes that all residents
endure, volunteer for ambulance duty, fire departments, sports
leagues, scout troops, donate blood, and participate and
volunteer for the same local neighborhood community events in
our schools, temples, and churches.
