GRACE ANN ALOISI SCHOLARSHIP

 

The Scholarship Committee of Westchester Local 860 is pleased to announce that applications are now available for the Grace Ann Aloisi Scholarship.  Applicants must be graduating seniors who are pursuing degrees in either labor relations or a labor-related field of study (such as history, economics, law, political science, sociology or journalism) or in public service and who are children of active Westchester Local 860 CSEA members or agency shop fee payers.   

 

One $1,000, four-year renewable scholarship, will be awarded each year.  Scholarships will be renewed for a maximum of four years provided the student remains enrolled in the specified full-time degree program (12 credits minimum).

 

Applications will include the following:

 

·        a 750 word essay on the “Role of Unions in American Society” (count of words will be strictly adhered to);

 

·        an official transcript with SAT/ACT scores;

 

·        community service activities;

 

·        extracurricular activities;

 

·        three letters:  a letter of recommendation from your Principal, a letter of recommendation from your Teacher or Guidance Counselor, and a personal letter of recommendation from someone who is not a relative.  ALL LETTERS MUST BE IN SEALED ENVELOPES.

 

     Applicants must have maintained a 3.00 or higher GPA
